Asus has introduced the Zenbook 13 UX331UN at IFA 2017 in Berlin. At that time, the weight was 1.12 kg (2.47 lb) and the battery life of the integrated battery was estimated by Asus at 14 hours while having Intel quad-core processor of the Kaby-Lake U series + to 16 GB of RAM + a 1 TB SSD. That was amazing for a thin light weighted laptop. The 13.3-inch NanoEdge display was available in Full HD or UHD resolution, and optionally an Nvidia MX150 GPU was integrated. Now at CES 2018, the slightly changed UX331UAL model follows, which can now directly compete with the light very weighted laptop, Gram notebook from LG. Asus achieved the weight reduction in by more than 100 grams. while keeping up the performance and battery life.
The new Asus features the 15-hour battery life, the quad-core processors of Intel’s 8th generation, and a maximum of 16 GB of RAM and a 1 TB SSD. This is accompanied by a sound system by Harman Kardon and modern Windows technologies such as Windows Hello via fingerprint sensor. It has a conventional power connection, HDMI, two USB Type-A ports and one USB Type-C connection, which seems it is not offering Thunderbolt 3 though. Asus did not specify anything on pricing and availability yet.
